100cm x 100cm Acrylic on canvas

I wanted to capture the feeling of being among a scorched cornfield in summer and how heat creates a welcome calm. It evolved from smaller 'plein air' paintings I made this summer. I am originally from Yorkshire but since living in Sussex I have found my imagination is particularly sparked by the sea's horizon and the concept that I am closer to Northern France than where I was born.
